MA MAISON
Marjory and Edward Leung are absolutely passionate Pinophile. Their passion led to the purchase in 1993 of 13 acres of land in Martinborough and in 1995 eight acres were planted, mostly in pinot noir. Ma Maison produces a single vineyard Pinot Noir and their main aim is to produce pinot noir of exceptional quality, reflecting the terroir they come from and wines that they can enjoy. The pursuit of their passion led to the appointment of Chris as their contract Winemaker, and Glenys Hansen as their Consultant Viticulturalist. Their first vintage started in 2003 and the rest is history.
Our winemaking philosophy is to express the terroir as best as we can and be as gentle as possible with minimal winemaking interference. Our vision is to make a wine that the best the land can produce, and at the same time with elegance, complexity, balance and underlying power and can age gracefully. Most of our wines are unfined and unfiltered and all viticultural practises are handcrafted.
